Application Guide — Heat Transfer Vinyl, Patches & Name Sets
GENERAL PRINTING & PATCH GUIDELINES
Before applying any personalisation — name sets, numbers, patches, or crests — take a moment to review these general practices. They're designed to help you get a clean, durable result whether you're finishing one shirt or a full batch order. We always recommend that application is carried out on an industrial-quality heat press, ideally by someone experienced with the process.

IMPORTANT: Heat transfers and patches are sensitive to temperature, pressure, and timing. Incorrect settings can damage both the print and the garment, and this damage generally cannot be undone. Key Notes
• These conditions apply to cotton and polyester garments only. Nylon-blend fabrics behave differently under heat and require their own specific settings — avoid using the standard conditions above on nylon.
• Always place a fresh sheet of protective backing paper — silicone or greaseproof — over the garment while pressing, to shield the fabric and keep the press clean.
• Peel conditions vary by transfer type: some need a warm peel, others a cold peel. Removing the backing sheet at the wrong temperature can damage the artwork or the garment underneath, so always confirm the peel type before you start.
• When applying patches, slide a heat-resistant sponge board inside the sleeve or body of the shirt. This protects the far side of the garment and keeps pressure even, which helps the adhesive bond properly.
• Never iron directly over patches, sponsor logos, or name and number sets, and never put a decorated garment through the tumble dryer — heat and tumbling can lift or crack the print over time.
